Structure and composition of disposable surgical mask

It is usually made of nonwovens, including a filter layer, a mask strap, and a nose clip. Standard surgical masks are made up of three layers, with an outer layer that blocks water and prevents droplets from entering the mask; a middle layer that filters out＞ 90% of the 5μm.  And the inner layer near the nose and mouth absorbs moisture.

Disposable surgical masks’ material

Disposable surgical masks are made of polypropylene with a fiber diameter of 0.5-10 microns. These ultrafine fibers with unique capillary structure increase the number and surface area of fibers per unit area, so that the meltblown cloth has a very good filtration, shielding, insulation and oil absorption.

The mask is made of non-inflammable material, the mask is burnt after leaving the flame ＜ 5s after oxirane sterilization, the residual amount of oxirane should be ＜ 10μg /g. The primary skin irritation index of the mask material should be ≤0.4, and there should be no sensitization reaction.
